Richard B. Schwamm is the managing partner of the firm's Orlando office and has been practicing law across the state of Florida since 1991. He was born in Manhassen, New York in 1966 and graduated from Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988 and from Stetson University College of Law with his Juris Doctorate degree in 1991. Of note, Mr. Schwamm was a member of the freshman honor society (Phi Eta Sigma) and nationally recognized honor society (Omicron Delta Kappa) at Rollins College. At Stetson Law School, Mr. Schwamm was on the editorial board of the Stetson Law Review.
Mr. Schwamm is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle district of Florida. Mr. Schwamm established himself as an aggressive litigator and trial lawyer in the very early years of his legal career. He has fought for the rights of his clients in many forms of litigation, ranging from claims of medical malpractice, liability of corporations for improper trade practices, complex tort litigation and catastrophic personal injury, and many, many other medically and legally complicated matters. He has traveled all over the state of Florida to protect his clients' rights and interests. Mr. Schwamm has accepted responsibility as a "first chair trial lawyer" in the most complicated of legal matters in Florida courts.
Mr. Schwamm has been asked to lecture throughout the state of Florida and across the country on various medical and legal issues, including medical malpractice, patient confidentiality, advance directives, and patient complaints against healthcare providers before the Board of Medicine and Department of Health.
Mr. Schwamm holds Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating. He is an "AV Rated Lawyer," which represents the highest degree of skill and ethical regard amongst his attorney peers in the state of Florida. Mr. Schwamm concentrates his practice in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, premises liability, wrongful death, and commercial/corporate litigation.
